Another triple digit day... - KVOA Tucson News

TUCSON - Highs could warm to around 100° in the warmest spots this afternoon, which would make today the 108th day to do so this year! Temperatures will "cool" into the mid 90s late this work week but will stay above average for the next several days.

Here we are, almost half way through October, and the record high this afternoon is in jeopardy. It currently stands at 99° in 1998 but we're set to hit the triple digit mark! The latest 100° day ever record in Tucson was on October 16th in 1991! Let's hope we don't beat that record too. An area of high pressure is to blame for the warm up and it will stick around for the next several days.

Luckily, the triple digit heat will be short-lived but plan on highs in the mid to upper 90s through this weekend. Overnight lows will continue to be cool and comfortable but also slightly above normal for this time of year!

  • Today: Hot and sunny. High: 100° (Record: 99° in 1998)
  • Tonight: Clear and cool. Low: 66°
  • Tomorrow: Sunny and warm. High: 99° (Record: 98° in 1991)
