It was a photo finish, but Authentic just didn't have enough to catch Swiss Skydiver at the wire in the Preakness Stakes on Saturday.

Authentic (7-5), the Belmont Stakes winner, was the heavy favorite, but Swiss Skydiver (11-1) took the lead midway through the race and was able to hold on as the horses went neck-and-neck down the stretch at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Swiss Skydiver, the lone female horse in the field, became just the sixth filly to win the Preakness, which was first run in 1873.

Bob Baffert, the trainer of Authentic and fellow Preakness entrant Thousand Words, will have to wait another year to win his record eighth Preakness; meanwhile, Kenneth G. McPeek, got his first Preakness win as a trainer with Swiss Skydiver (25.40).

Sporting News tracked live updates and highlights from the 2020 Preakness Stakes. Follow below for complete results from the last leg of thoroughbred horse racing's Triple Crown.
