Some Kroger stores to begin offering COVID-19 vaccinations - WKOW

MADISON (WKOW) -- Most Kroger stores in Wisconsin will begin to distribute COVID-19 vaccines after they get their first shipments this week.

The federal government is giving Kroger the vaccines as part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. The chain will get 2,340 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses over the next week. The state will give Kroger an additional 1,552 vaccine doses.

The announcement was made in a press release Wednesday from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Kroger also owns the Metro Market and Pick-n-Save chains. The announcement did not specify exactly which stores would get the shots.

Anyone currently eligible for the vaccine in Wisconsin can check Kroger’s website or call (866) 211-5320 to schedule an appointment as they are available.

"We are excited to continue to expand Wisconsin’s vaccine infrastructure and provide more access to vaccine by adding another pharmacy partner to this critical program," said DHS Interim Secretary Karen Timberlake.
