Three Trojan divers have qualified for the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships out of the Zone E Championships that concluded today in Flagstaff, Ariz.A pair of sophomore triple qualifiers highlighted USC's efforts as Nike Agunbiade and George Korovin qualified in their respective events for the third day in a row. Both will be heading to NCAAs for the first time in their careers, however both had qualified as freshmen in 2020 before the meet was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Agunbiade led the Women of Troy on platform, finishing third with 543.60. Korovin, the only male diver competing at Zones for Troy, was second overall on 1-meter with 705.35.
Freshman Farrah Volpintesta finished the day 10th on platform with 453.35.
Sophomore Savannah Stocker was 13th with 432.85. Yesterday, Stocker punched her ticket to NCAAs after finishing fifth on 3-meter with 601.50.
The USC women's swimming and diving program is now set to send seven student-athletes to the 2021 NCAA Championships (Mar. 17-20), as Agunbiade and Stocker joined the six Trojan swimmers who received invitations last week.
On the men's side, Korovin will join USC men's swimmers Alexei Sancov and Nikola Miljenic at the 2021 NCAA Championships (Mar. 24-27), who received invitations this morning.
