DAVIS — A man suspected of killing his brother, his sister-in-law and another person in Maryland was apprehended by authorities in Tucker County this morning, police said.
The Howard County, Maryland Police Department posted the following to social media today:
“Howard County police have confirmed that Jeffrey Allen Burnham, 46, of Cumberland, has been arrested for the murder of his brother, Brian Robinette, 58, and sister-in-law Kelly Sue Robinette, 57, in Ellicott City Sept. 30. He also will be charged with a third homicide committed Sept. 29 in Allegany County,” the release states.
“Burnham was spotted around 9 a.m. on the side of a road in Davis, W.V., with the 2007 red Corvette he stole from his brother’s home after the murder,” according to the release. West Virginia state police took him into custody without incident and located a gun inside the vehicle. It is unclear why Burnham had pulled off the roadway.
“Burnham is being held in West Virginia pending an extradition hearing,” the release continues. “There is no updated information about the case at this time. Howard County detectives are still investigating the time of the murders and the possible motive.”
Burnham is also a suspect in the Sept. 29 killing of an 83-year-old woman in Allegany County, Maryland, police said.
He is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
