Game Recap: Football |

Air Force football (8-3, 5-2 MW) outlasted Nevada (7-4, 4-3 MW) in a 41-39 win in triple-overtime Friday night at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nevada.

After going up by two on the two-point conversion to start the third overtime, the Falcon defense stood its ground on Nevada's possession. Defensive back Camby Goff batted away quarterback Carson Strong's throw to wide receiver Romeo Doubs to allow Air Force to come away with the hard-fought win.

Air Force racked up a season-high 476 yards on the ground on 83 rushes, which was the fourth most in a game in program history.

Air Force had several players hit rushing milestones in the win.  Junior tailback DeAndre Hughes ran for 221 yards on 23 carries, including two for touchdowns.  His 221 yards was the 10th best rushing performance in a game in Air Force history.

Junior fullback Brad Roberts ran 28 times for 117 yards.  He set the school record for rushing yards in a season by a fullback with 1,177, surpassing the previous record of 1,073 set by Rodney Lewis in 1983.

Quarterback Haaziq Daniels ran for 59 yards on seven carries, including the go-ahead two-point conversion in the third overtime.  He now has 1,002 career rushing yards, becoming the 51st in program history to reach the 1,000 yard milestone.

After a scoreless first quarter, Air Force out-scored Nevada 17-3 in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime.  The teams traded touchdowns in the third with Air Force leading 24-10.

Nevada rallied in the fourth quarter with two touchdowns to send the game to overtime.  The teams traded touchdowns in the first two overtimes before the third.

Daniels scored from three yards out on the very first play of the third overtime to give the Falcons the lead.  Nevada's attempt to tie was swatted away by Goff on a throw to the back of the end zone right under the goalpost.

Strong threw for 340 yards and four touchdowns for Nevada with receiver Romeo Doubs catching 11 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

Air Force caps the regular season next Friday, Nov. 26, hosting UNLV.  The game kicks as 1:30 pm MT and will be televised by CBS Sports.
