LUMBERTON, N.C. (WMBF) - One arrest has been made in connection to a triple murder scene in a part of the Pee Dee.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were first called to the area of Randy Street at around 7 p.m. Friday in reference to multiple people having been shot.
Two victims, 24-year-old Ryan F. Locklear, of Pembroke, and 20-year-old Treyvon Mitchell, of Lumberton, were both found dead when deputies arrived.
While on scene, detectives and investigators were informed of a third victim who was possibly shot in the arm. Dispatchers then received a call about a body being found at a different location.
The investigation later determined this person, 20-year-old Da’Vern Inman, of Orrum, was also shot during the incident on Randy Street.
23-year-old Dekota Ray Locklear was later arrested in connection to all three shootings. He’s charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon in a vehicle to incite fear and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
“Due to the actions of an armed convicted felon, we now have three grieving families who have lost a loved one,” Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said in a statement. “When repeat offenders are allowed to walk our streets and are not being held accountable for their actions, this is what happens. We simply can’t allow the criminal element to continue to wreak havoc, go about armed and just shoot people. To reduce crime in this county, persons such as this who continue to be a threat to public safety even while out on bond for other violent offenses, must be dealt with swiftly by the criminal justice system.”
As of Saturday morning, Dekota Locklear is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center under no bond.
