SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Police officers found three people dead Thursday morning in a home in Shreveport’s Cedar Grove neighborhood.
A manhunt was originally underway for the suspect, 36-year-old Barry Rigsby, who has since been fatally shot after reportedly firing toward law officers in Wisner.
Neighbors of Rigsby said they are shocked about the events that have unfolded.
Cloudie Jenkins said he was asleep when police lights woke him up this morning. He said he spoke with Rigsby on Wednesday, Nov. 3 and everything seemed okay.
“I just talked to the man yesterday in my yard. We were sitting right here talking, laughing. And he was bragging on his son about playing the championship football game. Woke up this morning and this happened,” Jenkins recalled.
Jenkins said the neighborhood was extremely quiet Thursday. He also said it will be strange not seeing the two boys who lived in the home every day.
Robert Bucks is also a resident of the area. He says the victim and the suspect lived in the home together and that law enforcement had visited the home multiple times in recent months.
“Police come over there at least twice a month for the last six or seven months, but they never did do nothing because they were out the next day,” he said.
Bucks said that despite the visits from police, the couple seemed happy most days.
“I think it was just something that him and the lady was involved in... I guess he took it out this way, I guess he figured out he didn’t have another choice,” he said.
KSLA is currently waiting to hear back from PSD on any domestic incidents that might have occurred in the home.
