High pressure has moved into the region on the heels of the Sunday storm system that brought heavy snowfall to the area, making for a bright and cold start to the workweek. We'll have thick pockets of fog, especially in southeastern Minnesota, until mid-morning before southwest winds pick up to stir the atmosphere and even draw in warmer air. Reduced visibility and freezing fog coating surfaces will be the primary concerns this morning before sunshine dominates the rest of our Monday. A weak cold front from the northwest will bring a chance for a few snow flurries for the late afternoon and evening, but no accumulation is expected in the area. High temperatures will be in the mid-20s which is typical for this time of the year.
After a bright, quiet Tuesday, another clipper type storm system will bring a chance for some light snow Wednesday afternoon and evening. At this point, less than an inch of snowfall is expected with strong, gusty southwest winds and high temperatures will be in the lower 30s.
Arctic air will pour in for the end of the week with sunshine expected on Thursday and Friday, but subzero morning temperatures are in store with high temperatures that will be well below the seasonal average.
There will be chances of light snow over the weekend; one Saturday afternoon and a just a slight chance late Sunday and high temperatures will be in the lower 30s.
