A third person has been arrested in connection with a January shooting that left three teenagers dead.
Leontreal A. Jones, 17, was arrested Tuesday in Peoria, Illinois, Des Moines police spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek said in a news release Wednesday. Jones was located in Illinois by U.S. Marshals. When he returns to Iowa, he will be charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree robbery.
Brothers DeVonte Swanks, 19, and Malachi Swanks, 16, and their friend Thayne Wright, 15, were killed in the shooting in the Swankses' home on Jan. 30.
Emmanuel Totaye Jr., and Daishawn Gills both of Des Moines,were charged with three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree robbery. Jones was 16 when the shooting happened, police said.
