After a very active and at times unpredictable weather pattern over the weekend, daytime highs are going to be hot and well above average from some areas.
A high-pressure system will linger through at least Thursday, keeping inland valley temperatures well into the triple-digits. It's likely that most of these areas will break temperature records.
With that being said, the excessive heat warning for the interior valleys of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties will remain in place until 9:00 p.m. Thursday. A heat advisory for the Santa Ynez Valley will also be in effect until that time as daytime highs stay between the 90s and low 100s.
It's important to note that chances of thunderstorm activity will continue this week. Right now, there's about a 20% chance of thunderstorms over parts of the valleys, mainly in Santa Barbara County Monday. These chances are partly attributed to southeastern monsoonal flow.
Wind speeds will be mild to moderate Monday, with northwesterly wind gusts from 15-25 miles per hour, which should help keep skies mostly clear Monday.
