These days, finding the right classic Chevy Camaro to call your own isn’t always easy. All too often, examples of the iconic muscle car are chopped-up and customized beyond recognition, making it difficult to find one with a factory look. Luckily, this particular example looks like it has what it takes to satisfy an enthusiast looking to keep thing understated and old school.
Although it’s by no means immaculate or factory-perfect, this 1968 Chevy Camaro is still quite nice. According to the listing, it was restored with a triple black color treatment, including black for the powered convertible soft top, black for the exterior body panels, and black for the interior upholstery. It also shows off with a number of classy details.
“We love that this Camaro has a lot of stock styling features,” writes the seller, “such as the grille, trim, chrome bumpers and even the classic redline tires.”
In the corners, we find 15-inch Rallye-style aluminum wheels, while a 350 cubic-inch V8 engine makes the machine move. The ‘eight is connected to a three-speed automatic transmission, while a polished air cleaner and valve covers help to add some extra sparkle under the hood. Topping the V8 is a four-barrel carburetor, while HEI ignition makes the spark. There’s also power steering and power brakes, with front discs for the latter.
Inside, this 1968 Chevy Camaro was equipped with aftermarket bucket seats finished in black vinyl and cloth, with Houndstooth inserts breaking up the design a bit. The dash sports a three-spoke steering wheel and factory-style AM radio, while a horseshoe shifter sits on the center console.
The listing says this Chevy Camaro shows 15,653 miles on the odometer.
Now, this ’68 Chevy Camaro is up for sale, offered on consignment from Gateway Classic Cars at the company’s Arizona showroom in north Phoenix. Pricing is listed at $63,500.
