OAKLAND — Police were at the scene of a triple shooting that left one person dead in an East Oakland neighborhood Monday night, authorities said.
Just before 7:50 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity in the 3600 block of Green Acre Road to find community members who flagged officers down at Enos Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard.
Officers found two victims inside a vehicle that had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency life-saving measures by Oakland Fire Department firefighters, one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of at least one gunshot wound.
Soon after, officers learned a third shooting victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound had turned up at a hospital in a different vehicle.
One of the victims was listed in critical condition as of 9 p.m. Monday, and investigators did not preliminary share any suspect description or a motive.
Officers worked to block off traffic from nearby Interstate 580 and set up crime-scene tape at nearby scenes where evidence including a blood trail was found.
No details were immediately available on the victim or any suspects. A motive has not been determined and no arrests have been made.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money in the fatal shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in each injury shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
