Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Offer Some New 2022 Prospects & Other Notes - UW Dawg Pound

Happy Sunday Husky fans. With the spring game in the rear view mirror the Husky coaches will start focusing more on recruiting the 2022 and 2023 classes. Over the last week the Huskies extended a few new offers in the 2022 class.

4 star athlete Arlis Boardingham from Birmingham HS, CA was offered by the Huskies after putting some impressive film up this spring. Listed at 6’4” and around 220 pounds, Boardingham is rated as the 22nd best athlete in the country by 247sports. The Huskies joined Texas, ASU, Notre Dame, and Utah in offering Boardingham. When you watch his film you can see that Boardingham has the potential to be a bigger wideout who possibly could grow into a tight end role. The Huskies look to have offered him on offense, but Boardingham can also play defense with his frame.

The Huskies also offered 3 star outside linebacker Kaeo Akana from President Theodore Roosevelt HS, HI. Listed at 6’3 and around 205 pounds Akana is a pass rush specialist and he currently holds offers from Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA and Utah. 247sports has Akana rated as the 44ty best outside linebacker in the country, and 2nd best player in Hawaii. When you watch his film you can tell why the Huskies decided to offer Akana (who can really get after the passer).

The Huskies also extended an offer to 3 star cornerback Jahlil Florence from Lincoln HS, CA. Listed at 6’2” and around 180 pounds, Florence Hs a speedster who has the length to be a big-time corner for the Huskies. Florence currently holds offers from Oregon, Michigan and now UW. The Huskies were actually able to get Florence to watch spring practice yesterday, which bodes well for them in his recruitment. Rated as the 45th best cornerback in the country, the Huskies will need to beat Oregon on the recruiting trail to land Florence.

As I mentioned last weekend there was going to be some recruits at the spring game, and some of the recruits in attendance were 4 star cornerback Benjamin Morrison from Brophy Prep HS, AZ, 4 star running back Emeka Megwa from Timber Creek HS, TX, 4 star offensive tackle Josh Conerly from Rainier Beach HS, WA and Malik Agbo from Todd Beamer HS, WA. There were other recruits there but those are some of the more notable names in attendance.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
