Oklahoma City pitcher Yefry Ramirez was named the Triple-A West Pitcher of the Month. During the month of June, he went 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA in five starts for the Dodgers. He had 27 strikeouts in 26 innings.
His first four outings of the month were incredible. He allowed only four runs in 21 innings of work and had seven strikeouts in three straight starts.
Player of the day
Donovan Casey provided the offense for Tulsa in the second game of the doubleheader, as he finished with two home runs and four runs driven in.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers had numerous opportunities, but they just couldn’t capitalize as they fell to the Salt Lake Bees (Angels) 2-1. For the game, OKC was 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and stranded six runners on base.
Scott Alexander threw a scoreless inning of relief. Dave Roberts said the club will activate him likely on Sunday or Monday.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers dropped the first game, 3-1. The offense was quiet, as they had only four hits and stranded seven runners on base. It was a quiet game for the most part, as it was scoreless through the first six innings. Arkansas scored three runs in the top of the seventh. Tulsa answered in the bottom of the inning with a run and Michael Busch represented the tying run at the plate with two outs. Unfortunately, he flew out to end the game.
The offense woke up in the second game as they won 8-4. Donovan Casey led the way for the offense, as he had three hits and four runs driven in. He hit two home runs, giving him six on the season. Jeren Kendall also hit a homer, his eighth of the season.
Andre Jackson threw three innings and allowed two runs. He had three strikeouts and three walks.
High-A Great Lakes
It was a crazy back-and-forth affair, but the Loons came out victorious in their 10-9 win over the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Padres). The TinCaps scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 9-6 lead. GL answered right back with a four-run inning in the seventh, taking the 10-9 lead.
Ryan Ward and Justin Yurchak each drove in a run with a single, cutting their deficit to only one run. With the bases loaded, James Outman walked and the game was tied. With the bases still loaded, Brandon Lewis singled in the go-ahead run.
Leonel Valera hit two home runs on the night to give him 12 on the season, tied for the second most in the Dodgers’ minor-league system.
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes offense continues to struggle, as they fell to the Fresno Grizzlies (Rockies) 2-1. They only had five hits and have now scored only three runs over their last three games.
Gavin Stone was the lone bright spot on the night. He tossed five scoreless innings and had six strikeouts with zero walks.
