We’re making progress.
The Saturday afternoon high temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 22 degrees. That was still 9 degrees shy of our average Feb. 20 high temp in the Twin Cities, but it was a full 25 degrees warmer than the -3 degree high temp that we saw last Saturday.
The upward temperature trend continues Sunday and Monday.
Snow for some of us on Sunday
A low pressure system will spin moisture over parts of the upper Midwest on Sunday. Periods of snow are expected Sunday in much of southern Minnesota, the Twin Cities metro area, and parts of western Wisconsin. Heavier snow is expected in northern Iowa. Northeastern Minnesota and parts of central Minnesota may see some light snow showers at times on Sunday.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern for Sunday morning through Sunday evening:

The Twin Cities metro area could see around one inch of snow on Sunday, with higher amounts in southern Minnesota, especially along and south of I-90. Here’s the NWS snow forecast, with “tomorrow” in the title referring to Sunday:

Air quality alert
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency continues an air quality alert Saturday night and Sunday morning from Stearns County through the Twin Cities metro area and on into southeastern Minnesota:

Air quality in those areas will be unhealthy for sensitive groups, including people with asthma, COPD, or heart disease. It’s recommended that people in those groups limit their physical activity until air quality improves. Updates on the air quality alert can be found on the MPCA site.
There’s also an air quality alert in west-central and southwestern Wisconsin, which runs through 3 p.m. Sunday. The Wisconsin counties with an air quality alert are included on this NWS graphic:

There’ll be some 20s in northeastern Minnesota. Our Twin Cities metro area high temp hasn’t reached the 30s since Feb. 4!
The warmup continues on Monday. Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the lower 40s Monday and Tuesday, followed by mid 30s Wednesday, around 30 on Thursday, then lower 30s Friday.
Two years ago
Feb. 2019 was the snowiest February in Twin Cities weather records, with 39 inches of snow. On Feb. 20, 2019, 9.1 inches of snow were tallied at MSP airport.

Snow totals in the 8- to 10-inch range were common across the Twin Cities metro area on Wednesday. Belle Plaine, in Scott County, came in with 12.8 inches of snow. A swath of 8 inches or more was indicated from southwestern Minnesota through the metro area:
