Shipley Center resumes some in-person activities - Sequim Gazette

The Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., has resumed some in-person classes and activities in April.

They include: Bingo (1 p.m. Fridays); watercolor painting (intermediate, 10 a.m. Tuesdays; beginning, 1 p.m. Thursdays); tap dance (11:30 a.m. Thursdays); balance exercise (9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, starting May 3); fiber arts/stitchery/knitting/crocheting (10 a.m. Tuesdays); diabetes support group (10 a.m. Tuesdays, starting May 4) and ukulele classes (time, starting dates TBA).

Class sizes are limited.

The center’s computer lab and library/craft store are open; both are limited to two people at a time.

Shipley Center also hosts a number of activities via Zoom, including Computer Clinic, tai chi and basic meditation.

The center has a number of COVID-19 policies and procedures in place, per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

All participants must pre-register for classes before attending. Those entering the center must sign in and agree to have their temperature checked with a non-contact thermometer and answer health screening questions. Once inside people must stay 6 feet apart and wear a mask or other face covering. Participants must wash or sanitize hands upon entering and exiting the center.
