FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Led by Stephen Wilmer's first career four-hit performance, the FGCU baseball team (24-15, 10-4 ASUN) registered a season-high 18 hits in an 11-1 rout of North Florida (15-18, 8-6) inside Swanson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

"It was great to get the bats going early and often," FGCU head coach Dave Tollett said. "We're looking to keep things going on Sunday as we honor our senior class."

It was FGCU's 57th game all-time with 18 hits, including the 37th of the program's Division I era. Wilmer (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview HS/Pasco-Hernando State/ECU) came within one triple of completing the cycle before finishing 4-for-6 with three runs, including one on a solo homer to deep right.

As a team, the Eagles produced six doubles, led by a pair from Marc Coffers, who went 2-for-5 with a run and a team-high four RBI. Cameron Krzeminski (2-for-4, R, 3 RBI, SB, BB), Alejandro Figueredo (2-for-3, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB), Joe Kinker (2-for-5, R, BB) and Brian Ellis (2-for-4, R, SB) each added multi-hit efforts as FGCU finished 18-for-42 from the plate as a team.

On the mound, the tandem of Tyler Tipton (Tampa, Fla./Gaither HS/South Florida State) and Tyler Shuck allowed just seven hits and three walks over nine innings. Tipton (4-1) went the first six innings, allowing the game's lone run on a solo homer, while Shuck (Cape Coral, Fla./Canterbury HS) picked up his first save by holding the Ospreys to two hits and two walks over the final three innings.

Figueredo (Sucre, Venezuela/West Oaks HS/Seminole State) now has a team-best seven-game hitting streak, which has helped him raise his batting average from .188 on April 3 to .267 following Saturday's game. He has tallied five of his nine multi-hit games during that stretch.

The Eagles took a three-run lead in the second behind RBI doubles from Coffers (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier HS) and Richie Garcia. One inning later, Figueredo's single through the right side pushed the lead to four.

After UNF's solo shot in the fourth, Wilmer responded with a deep blast to right to spur a three-run inning that also saw a two-run double from Coffers. In the sixth, Krzeminski (Coral Springs, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas HS) walked with the bases loaded before Coffers added a fielder's choice RBI. Krzeminski then closed the scoring in the seventh with a two-run double down the left field line.

With his 2-for-4 performance, Ellis (Oviedo, Fla./Hagerty HS) is on pace for the ninth-best single-season batting average in the program's Division I era at .362 while his .487 on base percentage is on track for third-best. Kinker (North Port, Fla./Venice HS) is headed for the ninth-best slugging percentage at .576.

Garcia (Davie, Fla./West Broward HS), meanwhile, will tie Gage Morey on Sunday for second in program history in starts with his 222nd. On top of that, he moved into 10th place in total runs on Saturday with 145, and he is three hits shy of sole possession of fifth place on the Division I era list. His double on Saturday was the 51st of his career, and he needs four more to move into sole possession of second place.

With the victory, FGCU not only improves to 5-0 against UNF this year, but they are now two games ahead of the Ospreys in the ASUN South Division standings with four left. The Eagles also moved a half-game ahead of Stetson for the division lead, although the Hatters are taking on Jacksonville Saturday night with a chance to move back into a tie.

FGCU and UNF will conclude their weekend series on Sunday at 1 p.m. Senior day ceremonies will begin at approximately 12:25 p.m. on the field.
