Denver weather: Mile High heat nears triple digits Thursday - The Denver Post

kmatabunga.blogspot.com

Denver just missed out on 90 degrees on Wednesday, but it will get even hotter on Thursday. Temperatures will near triple digits for the first time in 2021 and rather early into the season as it is still technically spring.

According to the National Weather Service, Denver will push to a high of 97 degrees under mostly sunny skies on Thursday. Winds near 30 mph will bring critical fire danger to the high country and a chance of a strong isolated storm over the northeast plains. Denver will drop to 55 degrees overnight with a cold front working through the region.

Thursday will be Denver’s fifth day of the year in the 90s, with all five warm days occurring in the last week. 100 degrees is rare as the city has only climbed into the triple digits under 100 times over the past 30 years. The hottest summer recently was 2012, when there were 73 days of 90 degrees or warmer temps, with 13 of those days reaching over 100 degrees, as measured by Denver International Airport.

Friday’s cooldown will still keep Denver above average temperatures with a high of 84 degrees under the sun. It will be 57 degrees in the evening.

Saturday will be 93 degrees and sunny with a low of 62.

Sunday into early next week, have the chance for 100 degree days.
