Portland is in for a very hot weekend and early week. With potentially record-breaking temperatures on the way, here’s what you need to know to be ready for the weekend.

- Three Portland cooling centers will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday afternoon through Monday. Those centers are: Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.; the Sunrise Center, 18901 E. Burnside St.; and a county-owned shelter in a former Rite Aid called Arbor Lodge, 1952 N. Lombard St. Anyone needing transport should call 211.
- Some Portland-area outdoor farmers markets have adjusted their schedules and some are closing. Check the status of your local market.
