Synopsis: The combination of warm temperatures and high dew points will keep heat indices between 105-109 degrees on Sunday. It is recommended to stay indoors, drink a lot of water if outside, wear light clothing, take frequent breaks and use extreme caution with cars, pets and children as cars can be lethal in a matter of minutes in this type of heat. The suns heat could draw up some afternoon showers on Sunday, but this activity should wane by Sunday evening with the loss of instability and the decline of the sun’s heating. From Monday to Saturday high-pressure starts to move off to the northwest while troughs, boundaries and low-pressure storms drop down from the north and into Eastern Texas and towards South Texas. The combination of the sun’s heating, the storms and the moisture moving up from the Gulf, should trigger some showers as the sea breeze blows into the area by Monday afternoon. There will be areas with a storm CAP (inversion), but the weakest areas where moisture (and instability) is the thickest will have the best chances for rain. Rain chances increase during the middle of the week as moisture continues to move up from the Gulf, interacting with the storms to the north as well as the sea breeze. The front/storms should lift back to the north on Wednesday, but a saturated airmass could produce heavy rainfall for Wednesday. The ground has had some time to dry but rain could cause some flooding problems on (Tuesday night) Wednesday. Storms move off and high pressure moves closer again later in the week as conditions start to dry off. Heat indices (with the exception of Wednesday due to cloud cover and rain) could range from 105-109 degrees during much of the week.
