Suspect in Jackson County triple homicide arrested - MLive.com

JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A Grand Rapids man wanted in connection with a triple homicide Sunday in a Grass Lake Township home is now in police custody.

Zacharie Scott Borton, 43, was was arrested without incident in Grand Rapids at about 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Borton was brought to Jackson where records show he was lodged in the Jackson County Jail at about 3:23 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Borton is a suspect in the shooting deaths of Delmar Eugene Fraley, 80; Edward John Kantzler, 70; and Michael George Pauli, 70, who police said were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds at about 5:50 a.m. Aug. 22, in the Grass Lake Township home.

Borton was staying at the home of the fatal shooting, and was believed to left the scene in a vehicle owned by one of the victims, police said. The vehicle was recovered, along with several guns, police said.

Borton was arrested while the Michigan State Police 1st District Fugitive Team was executing a search warrant in the 800 block of 3rd Street NW, police said. He is facing charges of open murder, felon in possession, auto theft, felony firearm and unauthorized use of a credit card.
