Dane County coronavirus cases continued to increase Monday with 101 new cases reported. It is the third time in a less than a week that Dane County has hit triple digits in new cases, with last Wednesday at 105 and this past Saturday at 125.
Once again, today’s new cases continue the trend of most new cases being discovered in younger people. Of the 101, one is under the age of 10, six are aged 10-19, and 66 are in their 20s.
New hospitalizations include one person in their 40s, one in their 60s and one in their 70s.
The percentage of active cases have also increased from yesterday. Yesterday, 58.12 percent were listed as recovered from all cases while 41.88 percent were active. Today, recovered cases make up 55.85 percent of all cases and 44.15 percent of all cases are now active. That means there are 773 current, active cases confirmed in Dane County.
Dane County reports no new fatalities today, leaving the death toll here at 32.
On Thursday, Public Health Madison Dane County rolled back some “reopening” restrictions, limiting bars and restaurants to seated service only, allowing customers to go to restaurants only with members of their households, and limiting indoor gatherings to 10 or fewer people.
On Saturday, PHMDC said some “traffic issues” had forced them to close their Alliant Energy Center community testing site early. Via Twitter, they said National Guard members were conducting as many as 190 tests per hour and that wait times were as high as 90 minutes.
