The new work-week will start off with a continuation of the heat across North Texas. Sunshine and mid to upper 90s can be expected today with a heat index of 100-102. The effects from Tropical Depression Cristobal will remain well to the east over in Louisiana and Arkansas today. Thus, DFW will remain rain-free.
Tuesday will be a scorcher with temperatures reaching the triple digits in some areas, and heat index values up to 105 degrees. But some relief is coming though. A weak cold front will arrive late Tuesday. Temperatures will drop a little, but more importantly the humidity will drop significantly, allowing for cooler nights in the 60s.
