A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in the deaths of three people, one of whom was found in a Fort Worth car dealership and two who were found later in an abandoned building in Palo Pinto County.

Police records show that Lamont Donnelle Cousins faces a capital murder charge in connection with the deaths of 65-year-old Virginia Lewis, 55-year-old Clayton Turrentine and 46-year-old Veronica Jones.

Officers responded to a welfare call shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday at Bill’s Auto Sales in the 4200 block of Benbrook Highway in Fort Worth, according to a police report. The person who called authorities said the son of one of the dealership’s employees saw blood on a door and wasn’t able to get anyone inside to respond, the report said.

When officers arrived, they found Lewis dead inside with a gunshot wound to her chest.

Police continued their investigation Tuesday and found the bodies of Turrentine and Jones in the abandoned building in Palo Pinto County. They did not explain what led them to that location.

The causes of death for those two victims has not been determined, and police have not provided details about a motive in the case.

Cousins was taken into custody Tuesday evening and was being held at the Fort Worth jail, with bail set at $1 million. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.
