Victor Robles Hits Little-League Home Run on First Pitch Back in Triple-A
Robles hits little-league HR on first pitch back in Triple-A originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The Nationals sent Victor Robles down to Triple-A Rochester to reset things a bit for the struggling outfielder and help him find his swing again.
He appears to be doing just that, as the 23-year-old outfielder shot the first pitch he saw in Triple-A into the gap for a little-league home run.
As Robles slid into third for a triple, the throw in got past the third baseman and allowed him to run home for a run. This is different than the typical inside-the-park home run where the player beats the throw to home rather than advance there on an error.
Robles struggled at the plate for the Nationals this season after a troubling 2020 campaign cast doubt on his status as one of the team's best young players. Manager Davey Martinez thinks the world of Robles, but the team believed this was a necessary move to help him find himself again.
