EATON COUNTY, MI – Police investigating a triple homicide in Eaton County said the victims are all family members of the suspected shooter who currently is in police custody.
Police were called Friday, Sept. 25, to a home in the 10000 block of Bishop Highway for an unknown disturbance, according to the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office.
While enroute, police received another 911 call from a neighboring home reporting a child had come to their home complaining about an injury to her foot, police said.
The caller then reported hearing screaming and gunshots coming from the residence next door, police said.
Deputies arrived at the home of the original unknown 911 call and found three residents dead of apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
Investigators quickly developed a suspect, a 23-year-old man, and sent out a statewide alert to law enforcement to be on the lookout for the suspect, police said. Investigators also posted an alert on social media seeking the whereabouts of the suspect.
The man was found Sunday morning during a traffic stop in Ingham County and was arrested without incident.

MLive is not releasing names of the suspect or victims as he has not yet been arraigned on charges.
Investigators said the shooting was not random, as the victims were family members of the suspect, but it is unclear what led up to the shooting.
The shooting suspect is currently in the Eaton County Jail awaiting arraignment on three counts each of open murder and felony firearms.
The shooting remains under investigation. Additional information is expected to be released by police later this week, police said.
