Garza was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Garza joined the major-league bullpen Tuesday but didn't make any appearances during his time with the Rays. The right-hander will head back to the minors after Ryan Yarbrough was recalled to start Saturday's game against the Orioles. Garza has posted a 4.20 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 15 innings over 10 appearances (two starts) in Durham this year.
