The Astros told full-time employees on Tuesday they will impose no layoffs or furloughs through Oct. 31, but those making more than $100,000 will take paycuts, people familiar with the decision told The Chronicle.
Owner Jim Crane revealed the team’s plan during a virtual staff meeting on Tuesday. Employees on both the business and baseball operations department were previously only guaranteed full salaries and benefits through June 19.
In May, the team committed to paying its minor league players their $400 stipend with full benefits through Aug. 31. Recent draftees and undrafted free agent signees are included in that number.
