Another hot and breezy day is expected for the Denver metro area Sunday with summer just around the corner.

Denverites can expect temperatures to reach into the mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder, with the forecast predicting a high of 94 in the city on a sunny day.

Things will be even hotter on the Eastern Plains, where Wray could hit triple digits by the end of the day. That will be accompanied by gusts of up to 60 mph on the plains, according to NWS, and isolated severe storms.

National Weather Service forecasts call for a 15 to 17 mph breeze coming out of the southwest, with gusts up to 28 mph in the city. Temperatures are expected to dip down around 58 overnight, followed by another hot, sunny day Monday with a high near 94. Rain doesn’t appear to be in the picture until Thursday or Friday.

Fire danger is high south of Interstate 70, according to NWS, and much of the southern half of the state is under a Red Flag Warning today.
