Jack Lopez smacked a go-ahead triple in the top of the eighth inning as the Worcester Red Sox beat the Buffalo Bisons, 7-6, on Saturday night on the road.
The WooSox (54-46) pounded out 12 hits, including two each from Delino DeShields, Joey Meneses, Josh Ockimey, Chris Herrmann and Lopez.
Zack Kelly (1-0) earned the win in relief. Brandon Brennan tossed a scoreless eighth before Kaleb Ort picked up his 15 th save of the year with a shutout ninth.
Worcester led 4-0 before Buffalo scored four times in the fifth, including a two-run homer from Danny Jansen, to even the score. WooSox starter Connor Seabold was lifted with one out in the fifth. He was charged with all four runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out four.
Herrmann smacked a solo home run in the fourth inning, while Jeter Downs (1-for-3) drove in two runs.
The WooSox have won six straight, one shy of the team’s longest winning streak of the year. They play the Bisons again Sunday at 1:05 p.m., to close out the series. Raynel Espinal (9-4) takes the mound for Worcester against Nick Allgeyer (4-4).
