CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — One person was fatally shot and two others injured at an unincorporated Brentwood home, authorities said Tuesday.
Around 4:20 p.m., deputies from the sheriff’s Delta Station responded to a report of gunfire at a home in the 10200 block of Brentwood Boulevard, nearly a mile east of Sellers Avenue, a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said in a statement.
When deputies arrived, they found two people in front of the home suffering from gunshot wounds and a third person elsewhere on the property who was also wounded. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Brentwood police also responded to the scene initially to assist, but deferred to sheriff’s investigators, including homicide detectives and crime-lab staff. East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters also initially responded.
No preliminary information on the circumstances that led up to the shooting, a possible suspect or associated vehicle, or the victims’ identities was available late Tuesday.Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s investigation division at 925-313-2600, e-mail tips@so.cccounty.us or call 866-846-3592 to share anonymous information.
