Not even the rising COVID cases can stop the annual North Texas Giving Day mega-fundraising from taking over the landscape this September. Starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, the 18-hour event presented by Amazon will allow North Texas non-profits to rally folks safely to their cause.
For your consideration, NorthPark Center is sponsoring MySweetCharity’s North Texas Giving Day Booster series that will kick off Monday, August 23, with weekday posts on more than 30 area charities. Some will be familiar to folks; others will amaze that they’ve flown under the radar. For instance, there is one that provides a pooch fostering program for those going through alcohol and drug rehab; another gets breast cancer survivors to “take the fight to cancer through free fitness, boxing, tennis, Pilates, FitCamp, rowing, yoga and Taekwondo classes;” one helps those with intellectual difficulties to “develop social and independent living skills;” still another is a “gathering place where leaders come to grow;” and then there is the program inspired by the death of a youngster “because it was the right thing to do.”
For your convenience, each post will have links to the organization’s website and their NTGD page.
So, take a couple of minutes in the days ahead to learn about the people whom you know or might want to know. They’re making a difference for good in your community. Who knows? Maybe you’ll want to support them financially or with personal involvement.
